全球酒飲巨頭帝亞吉?dú)W日前將旗下布什米爾愛爾蘭威士忌交易給金快活公司,以換取唐胡里奧高級(jí)特基拉的全球所有權(quán)。
Global drinks giant Diageo has traded its Bushmills Irish Whiskey brand to Casa Cuervo in exchange for the full global control of premium tequila Don Julio.
這次交易中還提及到金快活公司將接管帝亞吉?dú)W旗下斯米諾伏特加在墨西哥的生產(chǎn)及銷售。另外,帝亞吉?dú)W將會(huì)收到4080萬(wàn)凈額款項(xiàng)。
The deal also includes an agreement for Casa Cuervo to take over production and distribution of Diageo’s Smirnoff vodka brand in Mexico. On top of that, Diageo is expected to receive a net payment of USD408 million.

“This transaction delivers two key objectives for us,” said Ivan Menezes, CEO of Diageo. “We have secured our position in the growing super and ultra-premium segments of the tequila category and further strengthened our global footprint by expanding our leading position in Mexico where the growth of spirits has great potential.”

According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, tequila sales in America have more than doubled in a decade. Diageo, meanwhile, has poured a lot of energy into expanding its high-end tequila portfolio, buying two further other premium tequila brands, DeLeon and Peligroso, earlier this year.

Meanwhile, based on a research data from International Wine and Spirits Research, sales of Bushmills almost doubled between 2009 and 2013, with the strengthening market in the US contributing significant demand.
